In 79 AD, waves of volcanic runoff and ash coated one of the Rome’s most active and splendid cities. The speed and magnitude of the event left the city frozen in time, preserved as it was. Today, excavations of the ancient metropolis have revealed some of the most significant insights into Roman civilization, providing outstanding insight into the art, customs, trades and everyday Roman life. Walking the city reveals a wealth of architectural styles - since Pompeii didn’t segregate its neighborhoods based on income, apartments are next to lavish villas. The city’s best-preserved home is the House of the Vetti, where visitors can admire the richly frescoed entertainment rooms, and the central courtyard, where a pool is surrounded by a formal garden. The city enjoyed an abundance of water, with an aqueduct-fed reservoir supplying public fountains, and even a street-cleaning system. Perhaps best known for its infamous eruption on August 24, 79 AD, which destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum, this dormant volcano is now a national park - layering a unique natural environment over a shroud of history. The fateful eruption left a large crater that has fluctuated in size with each subsequent eruption. Since 1995, the volcano has been a national park, requiring visitors to walk 15-20 minutes up to the crater’s rim. At the top, visitors can walk around the crater to appreciate the contrasting views of Vesuvius’ moon-like landscape, and stunning views of the Bay of Naples.

Positive Experience with Shared Shuttle

I booked their shared shuttle from Positano to Naples airport and it was a great experience! It was on time, the driver was friendly and got us there very efficiently! They also sent over a live tracking link prior to your shared shuttle so you can keep up to date on where your driver is which was very helpful. It was also very inexpensive!

Reliable and smooth transfers

We booked 4 transfers with Daytrip and our experience has been very pleasant and satisfactory. The cars were clean and the drivers arrived in good time and were polite and drove in a safe manner. Our driver Fernando has been great, he even offered to give us some interesting facts about the places we past by.

Paris to Bruges in comfort, style and safety

Trip was excellent if a bit expensive because of our last minute booking. But for 4 people it was a great alternative to the trains with no switching required. Our driver Fernando was excellent. He arrive a little early, informed us he was there with no pressure to start until we were ready, and he handled our bags well at both the pickup and drop off. Well done.

Beautiful gem of a hotel

Il Giardino di Ballaro is exquisite! A little haven in a busy part of the city. The property is beautifully restored. Our suite was amazing - two bathrooms and little separate dressing and sitting rooms. And the staff were lovely - incredibly attentive to our needs, booking a taxi and even providing a takeaway breakfast for our early airport departure. Cannot recommend highly enough!
